Outside of Nairobi, former slum dwellers are creating a new town called Kaputei that will provide safe, affordable and legal housing, as well as opportunities they did not have in their previous communities. Led by Acumen Fund investee Jamii Bora, the fastest-growing microfinance institution in Kenya, this pioneering new eco-town is expected to house some 10,000 people.
