You Can Help Make An Impact
Help us make a lasting difference in the fight against global poverty.
Start or join a Chapter
A Chapter is an Acumen Fund volunteer group – a group of like-minded individuals who share a passion and interest in Acumen Fund’s work and our sector. The goals of a Chapter are to
- Champion patient capital as an effective complement to traditional aid
- Serve as a key fundraising and communications resource for Acumen Fund
Our Community site is the easiest way to find a Chapter near you. If you cannot find a Chapter in your area, feel free to start a group on the site so you can build toward one. Tips on how to start a Chapter can be found here.
Use The Blue Sweater to change the world
The Blue Sweater is the personal memoir of Jacqueline Novogratz, Acumen Fund’s CEO and founder. It is one of the best ways to learn about our work and also a great way to introduce friends and family to Acumen Fund.
Use The Blue Sweater as to help spread the word about a new way to tackle poverty:
- Share The Blue Sweater with your book club
- Get the book read on your campus
- Or simply give it to a friend – all proceeds from the book will support the work of Acumen Fund and other poverty-fighting organizations
Meet other Blue Sweater fans and find resources to support your efforts here.
Be a student leader on campus
There are many ways you can spread knowledge about patient capital on your campus. By increasing awareness of our approach, you can transform the way students on your campus think about the poor and help us build a new generation of leaders who are more equipped to tackle poverty. We encourage you to think creatively about how to spread this knowledge. Below are a few of our ideas:
- Teach others on campus about the field through clubs, events or changing your curriculum
- Use The Blue Sweater on your campus
- Fundraise for Acumen Fund on campus – the event can will support our life-changing work while increasing awareness of a new way to tackle poverty
Meet other students who are supporting Acumen Fund’s work on our Community site.
