Sophia Georgiou
Legal Counsel
Sophia Georgiou is Acumen Fund's Legal Counsel. Prior to joining Acumen Fund, Sophia worked for eight years in various capacities as a lawyer. Most recently, she served as one of Lawyers Without Borders' representatives to the United Nations. Prior to that, she was a Senior Corporate Associate in the Capital Markets Group at Clifford Chance in New York, where she represented public and private companies and investment banks on a variety of transactions, including offerings of debt and equity securities and mergers and acquisitions. She holds a BA from Barnard College, Columbia University, a MSc from the London School of Economics, and a JD (with honors) from American University, where she attended Columbia Law School as a visiting student.
