Catherine Casey
West Africa Manager
Catherine is responsible for launching Acumen Fund’s presence in West Africa, with a focus in Ghana and Nigeria. This includes raising start-up funding, establishing operations, hiring a team, and making initial investments in the region. For the previous two years, Catherine worked closely with Acumen’s CEO, including bringing Acumen’s ideas and experience to bear on policy discussions, and in global media and forums. Catherine joined Acumen as a fellow in Kenya, where she worked on the expansion of a micro-franchise chain of health clinics. She has worked with social enterprises in Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya. She earned a B.A. (highest honors) from Princeton University and an MPP from Harvard University, where she was a part of the inaugural class of Reynolds Fellows in Social Entrepreneurship.
